Morris (Maische /Barrels) Rutberg, 91, died on April 29 at Atria Crossroads Place in Waterford. Morris was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Bulkely High School. 
He served as a Marine in World War 2 in the Pacific theatre on Guam from 1942, returning at war's end in 1946.
With his father, Sam and his brother Benjamin he took over the family business, S. Rutberg & Son at 163-169 Howard Street. They specialized in buying and selling new and used containers.
In 1946, he married Francis Prague, of Willimantic. In his later years he enjoyed buying and selling antiques at local flea markets and travelling throughout New England with his wife. She pre-deceased him in 2004.
He was a member of the New London Lodge of Elks, Union Lodge #31 of Masons and was a 33rd Degree Masons, Beth El Men's Club, of which he was a Past President, and other local organizations.
He is survived by two sons, Alan of Baltimore, MD. and Eric of San Francisco, California.
A funeral service will be held at Congregation Beth El Synagogue on Monday, May 3 at 11AM. Internment will follow in Congregation Beth El Cemetery in Groton, Ct. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Congragtion Beth El, 660 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320
