Henry R. Tremblay, 84, 0f 201 Elm Street in Noank passed away Mon. Mar. 15, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Tremblay was born on Mar. 18, 1925 in Manchester, NH, the son of Abel and Irene Boisvert Tremblay.
He was married to the former Claire M. Fortin on Mar. 9, 1951 in Springfield, MA.
Henry was a Navy veteran of WW II, having served in the submarine service in the Pacific during the war.
For many years, he had been employed as a planner at the Electric Boat Company in Groton; and was especially proud of his involvement in the USS Nautilus program.
Mr. Tremblay’s hobbies included bird watching, movies and woodworking. He also enjoyed antiques and auctions.
Besides his wife Claire, he is survived by a son George Tremblay and his wife Noreen Kelly of Beverly Farms, MA, 3 daughters and their husbands Theresa and Willard Moon of Groton, Gail and Bruce Freeman of Lyme, Jean and Charles Estabrooks of Pawcatuck, 7 grandchildren, Ben, Andrew, Joshua, Katie, Nicole, Jordan and Madison and 2 great-grandchildren Noah and Zoe.
He had also been predeceased by his two brothers Adolph and Roger Tremblay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, Mar. 18, at the St. Mary Mother of The Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Rd.
His burial with military honors will follow in the Starr Hill Cemetery, Groton.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Byles- Groton Memorial home, 310 Thames St.
