James J. Keller, 39, of High St., Mystic, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010, at his home
Jim was born on Feb. 27, 1971, in New London, the son of Joyce Keller Scribner of Georgia and the late James T. Keller.
For over 20 years, Jim had worked as a self-employed fisherman and scalloper out of Stonington and New Bedford, Mass. He had also recently worked as an installer for Mystic Solar Co.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Mary Venditti of Groton and Florida; two sisters, Jamie Alpha and her husband, Curt, of Groton and Megan Scribner of Denver, Colo., and her fiance, Ben Kahn; and his step-father, Guy Scribner of Old Lyme. He is also survived by three nieces, Lexy, Paige, and Olivia Alpha.
He will be remembered for his contagious energy and spirit, as well as his ability to light up a room with laughter and endless funny stories. Jimmy loved to go on spontaeous adventures, cooking for family and friends, spending time on the water, and listening to music. Jimmy was loved by many, many friends and extended family members. We will continue to hold a piece of his spirit in our hearts.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at All Soul's Unitarian Universalist Church, corner of Huntington and Jay Streets, New London. His burial will be private, and there are to be no visiting hours.
