Lee Erik Miller, 39, formerly of Ledyard, died suddenly on his birthday  February 12, 2010. Erik was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1971, the son of Bob and Faye Miller, of 1 Muster Lane, Ledyard, CT.

He graduated from Ledyard High School in 1989 and attended Johnson & Wales University. Erik was employed for several years as an electrician at ProSystems of Ashaway, RI.

Erik was loving and generous. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.   His kindness and compassion for others was felt and enjoyed by all that knew him – there was never a time that he would not be there if his family or friends needed him. He could be counted on to always spread his continual humor, which will fondly be remembered by his loved ones

Erik is survived by his parents, Bob and Faye Miller, his sister, Karine Heard and her husband Michael, of Quaker Hill. He was proud to be "Uncle Iggy" to his niece and nephews Madison, Brent and Randy. He is predeceased by his nephew, Randy Johnston.

A Celebration of Erik’s life will be held at 1 pm Wed., Feb. 17, at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations may be made to Randy Johnston Memorial Fund, c/o Gene Ryan, Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Rd, or to the Charity of the Donors Choice.
