Joseph Vincent Martin died on February 8, at his home in Oakdale, CT. Joe was born March 13, 1963, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.

He graduated from Ella Grasso Technical High School in Groton in 1981, worked as a nuclear electrician at Millstone Power Plant in Waterford for 28 years, and was a long-time member of the Groton Lodge of Elks.

Joe loved fishing and being on the water, skiing, and gathering family and friends to his Fourth of July parties with food, fireworks, music and potato guns.

Joe is survived by wife, Michelle “Shelly” Martin, and their children, Daniel “Big Dan” Martin and Jenna “Jen Jen” Martin of Oakdale, CT; father, Edward Martin of Groton, CT; sisters and brothers-in-law Elaine Martin Golino and Joseph Golino of Vernon, CT, Terri Martin Karlak and John Karlak of Naugatuck, CT, Linda Martin Zifchak and Greg Zifchak of Port Ewen, NY, and Jeanne M. Martin of Mystic, CT.

Joe is predeceased by his mother, Jeanne Hendricks Martin, and brother, Edward.

He is also survived and deeply loved by cousins Timothy Martin, Roberta Martin, Brian and Diana Martin, John and Jean Palucci, and George Palucci, and by 12 beloved nieces and nephews in CT and NY.

            Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tues., Feb. 16 at the Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Dr., Groton.

            Visiting hours will be held from 4:30 to 7 pm Monday at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St.
