Thomas J. Wilson

 

 

GROTON - Thomas James Wilson, 68, of 20 Soundview Rd., Groton died Monday afternoon at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Tom was in the loving care of his best friend and wife Marie and his family . He was a loving husband and a wonderful father , grandfather and friend to many.

 

He was born October 6, 1941 in New London the son of Roberta Sinclair Wilson of Florida and the late James Wilson.

 

Tom was a devout union laborer for Local 547 for 40 years.

 

He was an avid fan of local auto racing, especially his son-in-law Todd Ceravolo , and NASCAR .He also enjoyed travel and gardening.

 

Tom and Marie McNeil Wilson began their journey in marriage on February 16, 1963 in Maryland. They provided a life of unconditional love and support to one another and their children.

 

In addition to his mother Roberta and his wife Marie, he is survived by daughters; Terri J. Ceravolo and her husband Todd of Gales Ferry, Tina M. Cook of Groton, and Toni L. Brothers and her husband Keith of Voluntown, and brother; Marlin Wilson of CA and  sisters; Bonnie Reed of Deep River, CT and Wendy Badders of FL, and his  grandchildren; Cassandra and Christen Ceravolo, Kevin and Matthew Cook and Autumn and Addison Brothers.

 

The funeral will assemble at 9:00 AM Thursday at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton and go in procession to a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, Groton.  Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
