NEW LONDON - Sarah “Sally” Schaperow, 90, of 100 Thames St., New London died Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London.
She was born March 4, 1919 in West Springfield, MA the daughter of Abraham and Ida Krugman.
Prior to her marriage to Burton E. Schaperow she had worked at the Travelers in Hartford. Mr. Schaperow died March 15, 2004.
Sally was a member of Congregation Beth El in New London, a devoted member of Hadassah and a member of the New London Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing bridge, Canasta and Mahjong and tending to her gardens of vegetables and flowers.
Her survivors are 4 sons; Joel Schaperow of New London, Eli Schaperow and his wife Mary of Deltona, FL, Leo Schaperow and his wife Lillian of Waterford and Jason Schaperow and his wife Rachel of Silver Springs, MD, 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM today, Wednesday, December 23rd, at Congregation Beth El, 660 Ocean Ave., New London, CT. Burial will follow in Congregation Beth El Cemetery, Groton.
